ORGANISING ACTOR FOR FILMING DAY 2
Below are the texts exchanged between myself and my actor about arranging a date for filming. I suggested the Saturday which we both agreed on and also arranged a time and place to meet. This was also a opportunity for me to tell my actor what costume to bring with him, as I will be supplying the necessary make-up and equipment. I am now looking forward to filming with actor on Saturday at my new location as I am more hopeful that it will be a success.

CHANGING LOCATION
MEDIA CLASS ROOM
I have changed my location of Bernice Hyde Hall to the media class room at Chislehurst School for Girls. I have decided to this as when filming with my actor at the Hall a couple of weeks I ago I struggled to find the correct lighting that I aimed to create. I used a basic domestic table lamp that produced a yellow/orange tones across my actor's face rather than a crisp white light which I initially wanted. At the location I realised I had a lack of facilities such as plug sockets which is a necessity in order to plug the lamp into, which only has a short lead attached to it. This meant I was restricted to certain areas of the hall which I found a great inconvenience in the easiness of filming and being unable to use all the space available. There was also no internet or computer in order to play my chosen song from so that my actor could lip-synch to the lyrics. This meant I had to play the song from my phone which was not of a good quality or volume. Because of the issue of lighting and facilities I will not being filming at this location anymore, after the unsuccessful results of my test shots.Instead I am using the media class room due the convenient access I have to it, the equipment and facilities available. In the room, there are numerous professional softbox lights, tripods, cameras, computers and different coloured backdrops which I have complete access to whilst filming. This makes this location ideal to film my music video which should look professionally produced.Wednesday, 4 November 2015
ACTOR 2 MAKE-UP PRACTICE
When meeting with my actor on Monday, in addition to filming test shots I also practiced a make-up look I want to create on him. It was important for me to practice applying the make-up so I could evaluate what products and techniques I liked and disliked. After my internet research I decided to follow a simple look which was also very dark using heavy block colours such as brown and black to draw attention to the actors face. I am happy with the finished look created as it looked very intimidating and frightening on camera, a persona I aimed to present. I found the application process very quick and easy to do as I was familiar with the products used.

TEST SHOTS OF ACTOR 2
On Monday (02.11/2015) I arranged to meet with my actor at my chosen location of Bernice Hyde Hall in Sidcup. I chose to do this in order to practice filming with my camera and to trial some of my shot ideas. I also wanted to experiment with lighting and to see if the location would be 100% suitable to the final production. I also used the opportunity to test the make-up I wanted to apply in addition to the costume. With my actor, we discussed in more depth my music video and practiced li-syncing to the lyrics to make the final clips look realistic, as if he is actually the performer of the song.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

FINAL OUTCOME:
I was pleased with some of the aspects of the filming including the close-up shots of my actor which I felt looked effective and interesting. However the lighting was a major problem as the source I used produced dark yellow/orange tones which is not I had initially envisioned. I wanted a crisp, clear white light shinning onto my actor creating dark shadows across his face which I unsuccessfully achieved. This is mainly due to the type of light I used which was a basic lamp rather than a professional light. I had to stick up pieces of A3 black card behind my actor in order to create a black background which meant in some shots you could see the creases and divide in the background. I am considering finding a new location to film the final production of my video due the many errors that occurred on this occasion.
